HELP MODE (beta)
Welcome to Help Mode! This page gives you all the resources you'll need to troubleshoot effectively and know what to do if Bonjourr were to break.
🤔 I have a problem, what can I do?
Depending on the intensity of your problem and your investment level, there are essentially two ways you can go about this.
The "I want to get on with my day" way
If Bonjourr crashes, the quickest solution is often to reset your settings at the bottom of this page. If you do this, you will lose your data, which is why you need to download it first. You can then start fresh or import your data back into your new installation using the Import button at the bottom of the settings panel.
In rare situations, the settings file itself might be causing the crash. If that happens, we recommend following the next section to report the problem.
The "I need help and want to report this bug" way
If you’re stuck or have discovered a bug, the best thing to do is get in touch with us. This can be done effectively in a few steps:
- First, check the GitHub issues to see if the bug has already been reported.
- If not, you can either send us an email or create a new GitHub issue about your problem.
- The two main things we need to help are:
- Context: What is the problem? Were you doing something specific before the crash? And any other relevant details.
- Your settings file: download it at the bottom of this page.
⚠️ Keep in mind that your settings file includes personal information (notes, links, weather location...). Email might be safer than GitHub in some cases, as it won’t be public.
🗄️ Server status
These are external services Bonjourr relies on to work properly. If any of them are down, it might cause issues. You can wait for them to recover or contact us if you think we aren't aware of the problem.

💾 Storage
The way(s) Bonjourr stores data in your browser.
Page storage (localStorage)
Stores all your data when using online.bonjourr.fr (settings, cache, backgrounds...).
Synchronized (browser.storage.sync)
Critical user data is stored here: essentially all your settings except local backgrounds. This is the content of your downloaded settings file.
Local (browser.storage.local)
Stores large data that either cannot or does not need to be synced.
🔄 Settings management & reset
If you need to reset Bonjourr, please download your settings and read the first section of this guide first.
